Visiting Paradise

I'm getting some kilometres into my legs, for the forthcoming Rovaniemi 150 race. On Monday, I had a day off from work, and decided to visit "the paradise", the Wilderness of Marttila (Marttilan Korpi). Riding small roads is far too easy, so I thought something more challenging could be there.

The sun made a rare appearance today.

As I arrived at Marttila, I was surprised. There was more snow, everywhere. The area must have had a local snow shower at some point. There really was that winter paradise feeling all over it.

I rode to one of the bogs, Karhunperänrahka, to check out the snow crust conditions. Actually, the snow crust was awesome on some of the trails. On the bog there were still some unfrozen places.

I decided to turn back home as I was running out of time.

This place is so peaceful! I have to return here soon.
